Our Work

Ventures we have built, engagements we have led, and the broader experience behind them.

BOCG's record spans three kinds of involvement. Ventures we have built and operate ourselves. Consulting engagements where we have worked alongside founders and executive teams to design, build, and scale their companies. And the broader senior experience our principals bring from prior leadership roles — described here in outcome terms and shared in full under NDA once an engagement is in motion.

Built Ventures

Companies BOCG has built and continues to operate.

These are productized businesses we own end-to-end — strategy, product, delivery, and the operating model that keeps them running.

TaxStack / DoMyTaxesForMe

Built & operated by BOCG

BOCG built TaxStack as a productized tax-preparation service for individuals and small businesses that need filings done for them, not software to do it themselves. The platform pairs a structured client intake with a guided, document-driven workflow so engagements progress predictably from sign-up through filing.

We designed the operating model, the delivery cadence, and the AI-assisted review and extraction layers that compress preparation time without compromising accuracy. The result is a repeatable service line with the governance, file controls, and audit trail expected of a professional practice.

How Do I Think

Built & operated by BOCG

How Do I Think is BOCG's publishing and reasoning platform — a structured environment for turning expert thinking into durable, reusable frameworks rather than one-off posts. It is built on the same execution disciplines we bring to client work: clear inputs, defined outputs, documented method.

BOCG owns the product, the editorial system, and the AI-assisted authoring pipeline that keeps cadence and quality consistent. It also serves as a working proof of our point of view: that good thinking is an operating system, not a talent.

Consulting Engagements

Companies BOCG has helped found, build, and scale.

Engagements where we worked directly with founders and executive teams to design the company, deliver the product, and put the operating model in place.

LiveWell Health and Wellness

Consulting engagement — built from the ground up

BOCG built LiveWell from the ground up alongside its founders, taking the company from concept to a live, operating platform. The engagement covered product architecture, delivery cadence, vendor coordination, and the day-to-day governance needed to ship a regulated healthcare product responsibly.

We brought the same delivery discipline we apply to enterprise programs — clear scope, defined milestones, executive-grade reporting — to a founder-led team that needed to move quickly without losing control of quality, security, or operating risk.

Applied AI Works Canada

Consulting engagement

BOCG worked with Applied AI Works Canada to structure how the firm packages, sells, and delivers applied-AI engagements. That included the capability framework, the delivery patterns used across projects, and the operating cadence that lets a small senior team take on enterprise-scale work.

Our contribution focused on the parts that turn AI expertise into a repeatable consulting practice: estimation discipline, delivery governance, and a go-to-market narrative grounded in outcomes rather than tooling.

National specialty grocery retailer — operational & digital transformation

Senior leadership role

Led a multi-year transformation across operations, merchandising, and technology for a long-established Canadian specialty grocer. The mandate spanned organizational redesign, systems modernization, and the introduction of governance and reporting disciplines the business had outgrown.

The work moved the organization from informal, founder-era execution into a structured operating model with clear accountability, defined service lines, and the financial controls required to protect margin while reinvesting in growth.

Enterprise document-automation platform — product & delivery scale-up to acquisition

Senior leadership role

Led product and delivery maturation for an enterprise document-automation platform serving regulated industries. The focus was making the company enterprise-ready: hardened delivery, predictable releases, security and compliance posture, and the operating evidence enterprise buyers and acquirers expect.

The company was subsequently acquired by a global enterprise software vendor. The engagement covered the run-up to and execution of acquisition diligence end-to-end.

Grid-edge energy intelligence platform — scale to strategic acquisition

Senior leadership role

Led engineering and delivery for a grid-edge energy intelligence platform working with utilities and large industrial customers. Scaled the engineering organization, instituted enterprise delivery practices, and built the operating evidence required for utility-grade deployments.

The company was subsequently acquired by a major global industrial. The engagement spanned product, delivery, and the technical diligence that closed the transaction.
